VALENA is a 2021 X-Yachts Xp 50, the flagship of the Danish yard's XPerformance range and one of the most rewarding fifty-footers to have in your hands. Drawn by the X-Yachts design team under Niels Jeppesen, the Xp 50 combines a long waterline, a powerful, tall rig and a stiff, lightweight epoxy-infused hull with a comfortable three-cabin interior. She will win the club race on Saturday and take the family cruising on Sunday.


Offered by her second owner and never chartered, VALENA has a specification is focused on sailing. She features Harken winches including one electric, full B&G instrumentation, twin helms on a teak cockpit and a bank of jammers leading aft, so every control stays within reach of the helm. A Yanmar 80hp saildrive with a folding three-blade Flexofold propeller gives plenty of power under engine and minimal drag under sail.


She is comprehensively equipped for extended, independent cruising: a Panda 8000 generator, watermaker, heating and air conditioning, radar and AIS, a bow thruster, electric swim platform and full domestic systems throughout. Below decks she is bright and well finished, with warm light-oak joinery, a proper nav station, a generous galley and three double cabins served by two heads.
