She is in Queensland 1C survey for 29 passengers and 2 crew under a Queensland Certificate of Operation. There are precedents for putting her into full AMSA survey, with other Cougar Cats of a similar capacity already in AMSA survey.
She is a proven workhorse, with a strong performance history of running daily trips to the outer reef at full passenger capacity. Her hull is incredibly strong and built in solid GRP, with only a small section of plywood integrated into the GRP in the swim platform, which has recently been repaired and reinforced.
She has had a major recent investment in a refit and repower, completed in December 2025, the works include:
o Complete re-power with new Cummins QSL9 main engines, plus new exhausts, mixers and valves
o Full driveline overhaul including new bearings, engine mounts and PSS shaft seals, with prop scan and pitch
o New gearbox electric actuators (integrated with the steering upgrade) and new gearbox oil coolers
o New hydraulic steering unit and autopilot, with new Glendinning controls and wired remote for docking and manoeuvring
o New cold-bent perspex bridge windows
o Brand new Garmin electronics fitout: GPSMap 8410 and 8412 displays, GMR Fantom 24 radar, B175HW through hull
transducer, Cortex VHF/AIS transceiver and autopilot, plus Fusion stereo
o Approximately 80% of the low voltage system rewired, including a 200Ah lithium house bank with DC-DC charging from
the main engines, and voltage and temperature monitoring to AMSA specifications
o All new seacocks, strainers and plumbing, with Arctic Steel 2.5" sea strainers on the main engines
o Port fuel tank opened, cleaned and inspected (starboard tank previously done, prior to the current owner), with new Racor
fuel filtration systems
o New toilet, macerator, toilet pump and plumbing, and new engine room fans
o New gypsy and control unit on the anchor winch
o New "Destiny Blue" decal wrap and antifoul
o All new bimini, clears, seat cushions and upholstery on the flybridge (July 2026)
o New flybridge A/C unit
o Onan generator currently out of the vessel for a full overhaul, to be completed in October 2026, including new stainless
exhaust mixer, heat exchanger, coolant pump, starter motor, sea water pump, fuel lift pump and aluminium bunded
mounting tray, with the alternator megger tested
o Galley refit, with removal of the ice box and unused shelving dividing the forward cabin
At a service speed of 19 to 21 knots she burns around 130 litres per hour, with a top speed of 25 knots. She comes with a Quicksilver 320 Airdeck tender with a Mercury Avator electric outboard.
The current owner has made a significant investment in the vessel, and she presents in turn-key, operationally ready condition for a new Owner.
Inspections can be arranged by appointment in Port Douglas.
