Bertram 35 Flybridge Series II - Two cabin version

Back in the eighties the Bertram 35 was the boat that many aspired to own. Their huge rear deck continue to set them apart from most of the competition. Combine this with accommodation for at least five in two cabins plus a sea keeping reputation which precedes them and it's no wonder they were so popular. Forty years on and they are still sort after for these attributes.

'Solero' is pretty well known example, often seen anchored in Longreach Bay over the summers. After enjoying her for the last year the current owner is ready to upgrade so it's time to find her a new custodian.

Powered by twin Mercruiser shaft drives, she scoots along nicely at 18 knots with a max speed of over 25 knots. She is a remarkably tidy boat for her age, both above and below decks, a credit to successive owners.

She features some impressive upgrades. The fibreglass hard tops over the flybridge and cockpit are far more durable than the traditional canvas tops. They also provide the perfect base for the solar array which keep the batteries topped up, in turn running the custom chest style cockpit fridge. Most of the interior lights have been swapped out to LED to conserve power and make her even more self sufficient when at anchor. A backup 2kva Honda genset is included in the package.

Accommodation is for five, two in the forward cabin, two in bunk beds and one on the sofabed.

There are two steering helms, the lower station making berthing so much easier as you don't have to clamber down the ladder to grab a line and vision is excellent!

The petrol shaft drives burn a little more fuel than the diesel equivalent however they are far cheaper to maintain in the long run.

For a small family 'Solero' is well worth considering if you've hoping to spend this summer on the water. Just serviced, antifouled and polished. Nothing to spend. She's a great package for around $100K.
