Time and Tide Classic Timber Cruiser
Asking Price: $125,000 AUD
Built in 1964 by Peter Bracken in Kurnell, NSW, Time & Tide is a 38ft timber cruiser with classic lines, varnished timber detailing and a spacious layout for family weekends afloat.
Her generous covered aft cockpit is a standout: an inviting space for long lunches, outdoor dining and relaxing at anchor, with a stainless-steel BBQ and freezer chest close at hand.
We have owned Time & Tide since 2020 and enjoyed many family trips exploring Pittwater and the Hawkesbury. During our ownership, we have kept up regular maintenance, exterior painting and cosmetic upkeep.
Accommodation and Living:
Sleeping four, the accommodation comprises a forward V-berth and two single bunks, with timber detailing throughout.
The main saloon has comfortable seating and a timber dining table. The galley includes a fridge, gas stove and oven, and ample storage.
Hot water, a shower and a new Sani-Loo electric toilet with holding tank add to the comforts aboard.
Solar supports the fridge and freezer, reducing reliance on running the engines for refrigeration while at anchor.
Construction and History:
Built by Peter Bracken in 1964, Time & Tide has an Oregon timber hull with Dynel sheathing and traditional timber finishes.
She underwent a major restoration by Millcraft in Brisbane in 2001 and has continued to be maintained and cared for over the years.
Engines and Equipment:
Powered by twin turbocharged 135hp Perkins 6.354 diesel engines with shaft drives.
Cruising speed is approximately 6-7 knots.
o Engine hours: Approx 1100 for both
o Fuel consumption at cruising speed: Approx 9-10L/hour
o Hydraulic steering
o Electric anchor winch
o Furuno radar and GPS/plotter
o Course master autopilot
o Vitron Smart Solar system with near-new dual lithium house batteries and near-new dual starter batteries
o Highfield tender
o Lily pad swim mat
Maintenance:
Time & Tide was most recently slipped and antifouled in September 2026, when she also underwent an out-of-water insurance survey.
Recent work includes exterior painting and ongoing cosmetic upkeep. Full service, maintenance and upgrade history is available for the last 15 years.
