The Fjord 38 Xpress was designed as a superyacht level dayboat for those who want striking style with real practicality.

This is the first one of this model I have had the pleasure of bringing to market, and I have to say I am genuinely impressed.

Powered by twin Mercury 350HP outboards, she cruises effortlessly at 25 to 30 knots. On the day of the shoot, we encountered a gusty 25 knot offshore breeze, yet barely a drop of salt came over the bow. She felt very solid on the water as we scooted around, with a large acrylic windscreen providing excellent protection from the wind.

Electric throttles and a water jet bow thruster make her especially easy to handle in tight spaces. With the centre console layout, visibility in all directions is superb. The beauty of outboards is that the skipper can trim the engines clear of the water for beach landings or for slipping into shallow bays.
Fjord has been very clever with the social layout, something that has been proven locally as the boat becomes a real social magnet during her regular Rottnest raft ups. Seating is generous, comfortable, and multifunctional. The aft lounge features an electric table and can be arranged for cruising, dining, or converted into a flat daybed.

Forward, there is a large wraparound lounge with a teak table and an umbrella mount, complete with umbrella, for shade when needed. It is an elegant and comfortable space that really stands out among boats in her class.
A practical wet bar with fridge, sink, and cupboards provides an ideal space for mixing drinks or preparing food.

Factory upgraded luxury fabrics and finishes, including Milano Oak, give the cabin an elegant feel and make it a lovely option for a quick overnight stay if you decide to linger a little longer.

A full height bathroom adds to the comfort, with an electric flush toilet, shower, and useful amenities.

Storage for toys and gear is excellent. Hidden directly beneath the aft lounge is the toy box. At the press of a button, the deck lifts to reveal a huge storage space that is perfect for water toys. Solid swim platforms on either side of the engines make it easy to access the water when it is time for a swim.

The striking jet black fibreglass T top provides plenty of shade for the skipper and wet bar. Strong black powder coated aluminium and fibreglass supports help keep the roof rigid underway. If more shade is needed at anchor, an electric telescopic awning extends over most of the aft lounge. For extra shade and wind protection, breezeway screens can also be lowered on either side of the T top.

An electric anchor windlass is neatly hidden in the bow and includes an upgraded stainless chain and anchor. Fender storage is provided along the gunwales, and there is also a huge storage locker beneath the forward lounge.

Teak gunwale capping adds a lovely finishing touch, complemented by low maintenance synthetic teak style flooring from bow to stern.
