Alexander Marine are pleased to present the 1995 Offshore 58 Raised Pilothouse 'Providence' to the market as central agents.
One reason for the huge success of the Offshore 58 model is her sea kindly Crealock hull which features a deep forefoot, a mild deadrise, and substantial displacement - these yachts are well known as being easy in a seaway. And, with a long keel and a low centre of gravity, they were designed with offshore voyaging in mind.
Underway 'Providence' is everything you might want, and more. She's fast when required (18-plus knots), well mannered, and solid. In 2010 she was re-powered with a pair of Caterpillar C-12's at 705hp each. She is further equipped with Northern Lights 12 KVA & 8 KVA gensets, Wesmar fin stabilisers, bow thruster and a ZF wired docking remote.
'Providence's' impressive teak cockpit is spacious and inviting, perfect for outdoor relaxation, social gatherings, and easy access to the water. To port against the saloon bulkhead is a handy storage cabinet. The teak laid swim platform is the perfect spot for diving or fishing. In addition to the shade afforded by the overhead GRP boat deck overhang, a permanent fabric awning extends even further aft providing maximum shade over the cockpit area which is perfect for our warmer climates.
Double sliding doors open from the cockpit into the saloon, boasting a large settee to port around an expandable coffee table. There is a TV recessed mounted in the entertainment cabinet to starboard. The saloon offers a lot of seating and entertaining space. Teak is the standard choice for her extensive joinery work and built-in cabinets.
Just forward in the saloon and to port is her U-shaped galley, which is well placed to look after guests in the saloon and cockpit, as well as having an opening to the raised pilothouse - the chef will never feel left out of the action onboard 'Providence'. With wide counters, the galley has all the expected amenities, including under bench Westinghouse fridges and an Ariston oven. There is storage galore in drawers, lockers, and above - and below-counter cabinets.
One impressive feature of the saloon/galley area is the airiness, due to oversized windows that provide a great view even while seated. Also, with the side decks shaded by the overhanging flybridge and boat deck structure, the saloon is protected from the midday sun in tropical climates.
The raised pilothouse is everything you'd expect from a yacht designed by experienced offshore skippers. The dashboard wraps across from a chart table which is positioned to port, past the array of electronic monitors and the teak-rimmed wheel. The lower helm seat sits forward of an L-shaped settee that can convert to a pilot berth offshore. Finishing off the pilothouse is a cabinet to starboard with a Westinghouse freezer. Port and starboard pilothouse doors provide ease of access onto each side deck and great natural ventilation.
Skippers will also appreciate the great visibility in the raised pilothouse, as the saloon is not closed off, allowing both aft corners of the yacht to be seen from the pilothouse for easier docking. In addition to the ability to have a peek out either teak-faced pilothouse doors as required. Keep in mind also her bow thruster and docking remote all assist in making docking 'Providence' a hassle-free experience.
Adjacent the helm station, to starboard, is a staircase down to the forward staterooms offering a two-cabin, single-head arrangement. Forward, the VIP stateroom offers a centreline island double bed, two realistically sized hanging lockers, and direct/private access to a spacious head with an enclosed shower. Aft and to port is the guest cabin which is fitted with over and under-bunk beds, which allows room for a hanging locker. An internal pocket slider door maximizes cabin space.
Mid-ships adjacent to the galley to starboard in the saloon, steps lead down to the master stateroom - which therefore has its own private entry. Access to the master cabin is also possible from the forward accommodation areas. The master cabin takes advantage of the vessel's full beam. The athwartship king berth is set into a padded headboard between two built-in nightstands, and the rear bulkhead has an array of drawers and louvre door cabinets. The master head, equipped with a large enclosed shower stall, runs along the starboard side with, need I say, more drawers for toiletries and lockers for towels.
Up on the flybridge, the helm and seating areas are protected by a bimini. The fiberglass bridge console has engine screens, a stainless steel destroyer wheel, and a settee that wraps around for easy egress. Unlike some low-backed settees, this one has a comfortable high back for support on long trips.
Here's another thoughtful touch: a watertight hatch in the console not only provides light and fresh air to the pilothouse but also offers an easy way to pass a tray of 'toasties' to the bridge.
Up top and aft the boat deck is surrounded by beautifully welded double stainless steel rails, and there is ample room for the 3m Barefoot RIB and other water toys which can be launched and retrieved with the assistance of a 500kg Davit.
You are invited to book a private inspection to view this vessel. If you are unable to travel to inspect this vessel, we would be pleased to offer you a personal guided video tour via telephone with one of our yacht consultants.
