Pompei Motor Cruiser 35 ft Classic Double Ender Just Listed

Once a working Port Phillip scallop boat, this classic 35ft double ender was originally built by Jack and Joe Pompei at their legendary Mordialloc facility in 1968. After 15 years working in Bass Strait and Port Phillip, she was converted for pleasure use around 1983 by Pompei's, her original builders, and was fitted with her 120hp Ford diesel engine at that time.

More recently, she has undergone an extensive 2-year program of refurbishment in every aspect by professional shipwrights with her then owner specifying that only the best materials were to be used and with considerable attention to detail, regardless of cost. Her hull was fully refastened and re-caulked, decks and superstructure epoxy sheathed and she has been fully repainted using modern systems for longevity and low maintenance. Upgrades fitted in her refurbishment include new alloy windows and hatches, cabin top mounted Solar panel with battery charger, Hydrive hydraulic steering, a Raymarine autopilot, Fusion stereo, a new 140 Litre fuel tank and an electric anchor winch with remote operation from the wheelhouse aft.

Her beamy double ended hull with 2 tonnes of custom cast lead ballast ensures an extremely sea-kindly motion under way. She would be an ideal Peninsula or Lakes day boat with her roomy cabin and spacious aft cockpit, ideal for entertaining family and friends.

She now presents in immaculate condition as a gentleman's / lady's cruiser offering twin-berth overnight accommodation with a fridge, toilet, new pressure fresh water and sink. All the hard, and costly, work has been done and she is ready to enjoy this coming summer and beyond. Inspection is invited at Sandringham Yacht Club marina.
