1989 Stenhouse 36 Cruiser
I'm selling my 1989 Stenhouse 36 after spending a lot of time bringing it back to life. Unfortunately I don't have the time to finish the last few jobs, so it's time for someone else to enjoy it.
Powered by a BMW 6-cylinder diesel with shaft drive, the engine has done 1,647 hours, was recently serviced, and comes with a good selection of spare parts. It comfortably cruises at around 7 knots and will reach approximately 10 knots.
The boat is built with a fibreglass-over-hardwood hull (approximately 40mm thick) and has a skegged rudder. It's an exceptionally dry boat with no water ingress--the bilge can stay completely dry for months.
It was slipped in October 2024 where it received a full antifoul and a number of other maintenance items. During the project I've also fitted a new 12V/24V/240V fridge, a new kitchenette with a twin 240V cooktop, and a new TMC marine toilet.

She is approximately 90% complete and is being sold with a few remaining jobs to finish.
The outstanding items are:
- Replace the Morse control cable.
- Connect the kitchen and bathroom water system.
- Some foredeck hatches have been removed. The deck is structurally sound but needs cosmetic finishing.
- The original main fuel tanks have rust, so the engine is currently running from a small auxiliary fuel tank.
It's a genuine, solid cruiser that has had a lot of time and money invested in it already. The hard work has largely been done, leaving the next owner with the opportunity to finish the remaining jobs and enjoy a comfortable coastal cruiser.
