DUALASEAS is a 2008 Catana 50 in the sought after Owner Version, designed by Christophe Barreau and built by Catana in France.
Named Best Cruising Multihull in Cruising World's 2008 Boat of the Year awards, the Catana 50 is one of the most respected performance cruising catamarans of her generation: vacuum infused foam sandwich construction reinforced with carbon and aramid fiber, daggerboards for real upwind ability and twin aft helm stations.
Always privately owned, well maintained and never chartered, she has known only three owners.
Only lightly used for long distance sailing, she has completed just one Atlantic crossing and one Pacific crossing to Tahiti, where she now lies.
Her level of equipment is simply exceptional, with true offshore redundancy built into every critical system, from energy and navigation to water production, steering and ground tackle.
Key features:
- New sails 2026: mainsail, self tacking jib and lazybag all new in 2026
- Marechal carbon mast with Harken battcars, carbon bowsprit, gennaker on Harken furler, Doyle asymmetric spinnaker, 8x Harken winches (5x electric)
- Twin Volvo Penta D2-75C 75 HP turbo diesels, saildrives, folding props (2216 / 1668 hours), plus an extra 100 A house alternator on each engine
- Engines remote control electronic ZF throttles (forward)/backward) to manage anchor and engines from the bow at the same time on the same remote.
- Redundant power: 460 Ah 24V lithium bank (2022) backed by AGM, Victron Multiplus 5 kW plus a second Phoenix inverter, 7 kVA generator, 2x Victron MPPT solar chargers, shore power
- Two independent watermakers, one per hull: Aqua-Base 250 LPH and 105 LPH.
- Redundant navigation: 3x Raymarine Axiom Pro plotters, Quantum 2 Doppler radar, 2x depth sounders, 4x i70s displays, AIS700, and dual autopilots with spare hydraulic ram, pump and actuator
- Connected everywhere: Starlink plus Iridium GO backup, Victron Cerbo GX with worldwide VRM monitoring, full NMEA2000 Ethernet and engine data network
- Fully electric galley with induction cooking, 3x fridges and freezer, full boat air conditioning with reverse cycle heating, washing machine, towel warmer
- Two complete anchor setups: stainless steel Spade 45 kg on 90 m of chain (2023) and Fortress FX-37 (2025) with 56 m rode, Lofrans 2000 W windlass
- New antifouling and propspeed on propellers - June 2026
- Huge spares inventory: autopilot ram and pump, MPPT, 3 kVA Multiplus, lithium cells, Volvo raw water pumps and turbo, winch relay and much more
French Polynesia VAT paid (Sail in French Polynesia without limitation of time).
A full condition and valuation survey (May 2026) is available on demand.
