Jackman 12.5m Charter Motor Sailer - Built to Survey - NEW Build 85% complete. This vessel represents a great opportunity to complete a new build at a fraction of the total build cost.
This is a very unique boat that has been custom designed and built as a charter motor sailer. The design has a very versatile layout that could be used for multi-purpose charter operations including fishing, diving or eco-tourism.
There are a number of possibilities to explore with this versatile design. In its simplest form, the boat could be completed and used as a power boat for private use. With the addition of the optional mast and rigging (not included in the sale), it would make a terrific long range motor sailer for cruising the coast and well beyond. Put into survey in either guise, it has the potential to become an income producing charter business.
The design originated from the drawing board of David Jackman, a well-regarded WA naval architect. Jackman designs are well known to West Australians in both the commercial and recreational boating sectors.
The original plans were submitted and approved by the DOT for Class 1C and 1D operations in Western Australia. Once complete, the boat would need to undergo a commercial survey in order to be utilized as a charter vessel.
The hull and superstructure were professionally built by Alucraft Boat Builders in Henderson. The fit out was done by Northern Star Boat Builders in Bibra Lake. The current owner has spent in excess of $430,000 and estimates that the boat is now about 85% complete. The wiring has been installed and there is an array of new Raymarine electronics ready to install. All of the tankage is installed and ready for the final plumbing to be connected.
The accommodation consists of two private cabins. The owners master cabin has a huge king size bed and private en-suite. The guests cabin features a comfortable sized double bed, TV and a large hanging locker for storage. The only major job left to do in the accommodation area is the flooring.
The saloon and galley are close to complete. There are a number of options for finishing the saloon, that would allow the new owner, to put their own personal touch on the boat and optimise the layout for the intended use of the vessel.
A huge amount of money has already been spent on this vessel, not to mention the uncountable hours that the owners has put in to get it to this stage. With the greater majority of the heavy lifting and expenditure already accounted for, this vessel represents a fantastic opportunity and excellent value for money.
