Sailing Performance and Construction
Crazy Horse (formerly Oyster Catcher XXV) was conceived as an ultra-high-performance version of the popular Oyster 72. She was designed and built to be competitive in racing, and this she has most certainly achieved. From the design board of renowned naval architects "Humphreys Yacht Design" and having her hull, decks, mast, and boom made of carbon & kevlar, she is lightweight, stiff, and performance-oriented. With a sail wardrobe to match, including upgrades such as a carbon bowsprit to fly her Code Zero with KZ Furler and cable, she is capable of ocean racing with a larger crew or fast cruising when sailing shorthanded.
The Deck
The deck layout of the Oyster 72 Crazy Horse exemplifies impeccable and thoughtful design by experienced yacht builders, owners, and crew. Stepping aboard at the aft deck and swimming platform, the deck seamlessly flows from the aft deck with lazarette to the dual helm positions with navigation and sail controls. This layout forms a spacious seating area in addition to the central cockpit. The cockpit can be enclosed with the collapsible dodger and bimini, providing a cool environment in the tropics or shelter during cruising in colder climates.
The cockpit comfortably accommodates 10 passengers around the table, equipped with built-in fridges, for dining and lounging before descending below deck to the main saloon. The expansive foredeck provides ample storage for a 3.5m tender. Once the tender is removed, the foredeck offers a spacious cleared area with built-in loungers.
Interior
When entering the main salon, you'll find the dining area to port with comfortable seating for up to 8 guests. To your starboard side is a well-equipped navigation station that provides an excellent view while underway and offers adequate space for passage planning. Moving forward, you enter a full-beam galley that features a combination of private and interactive benchtops, fully equipped with all the necessary equipment for preparing high-quality meals.
Guest Accomodation
Crazy Horse can accommodate 8 guests in 4 double cabins with an additional small single bed in the master cabin suitable for a child. The master and VIP cabins feature private ensuite bathrooms, while the guest cabins located amidships have access to a shared bathroom. Alternatively, she can accommodate up to 2 crew members onboard, ensuring a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience for a group of 6. All cabins are filled with natural light and are spacious, equipped with TV sets, and feature full air conditioning throughout.
