The 3-cabin layout with internal stairs to the flybridge certainly makes for comfortable extended cruising, made easier by the additional long-range fuel tank forward and a water maker ensuring maximum time exploring our famous waterways and less time heading back to port for fuel or water.

I'm often asked if I would prefer a flybridge or a sports cruiser layout. Depending on the boat I'm often torn. However, in this case, if the sportscruiser's deck is a balcony, the 51's flybridge is a rooftop terrace with views as far as the eye can see. It's a lifestyle centre that looks down on the open deckers at water level. With five-star amenities, you can cruise, muse and enjoy the views from the top storey.
The 51's saloon has big picture windows that leave the below decks living space on most sports or express cruisers looking, well, out of sorts. The sophisticated interior is perfect for soirees, dinner parties, cocktails, coffee and cake, or business pow-wows.
Indoors, the 51 feels open, inviting and liveable, thanks in part to the cherrywood joinery throughout in high gloss to give her the feeling of opulence.
But don't be fooled. Riviera are just as much about performance as presentation and AWOL is no exception. Capable of over 30knots or a comfortable cruise of 24 means she's ready to cover some ground heading north for winter or keep the mates and fishing scores happy with some serious game fishing.
