When the Sense 50 hit the market, she was astounding- her massive cockpit, her clever interior and sleek looks ushered in a new era for performance cruising boats.
Originally launched as Mia 3, this Sense 50 was built and launched in 2012 as the demonstrator boat for the Western Australian Beneteau agent, and has been improved and updated along the way.
From the design board of Naval Architects Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design, with interior design by Nauta Design the Sense 50 is in Beneteau's words: "A modern sailing yacht with a completely innovative concept- from stern to bow, she adds one surprise to another in her organization of life on board. For cruising and well-being, simplicity and aesthetics are the watchwords".
Please be aware that this boat is currently lying in Darwin, and the accompanying photos were taken a year ago. Please contact us for more information.
'Strength In Numbers' previous owners took time to enhanced her, adding features such as a gloss varnished teak table that seats 16 in the cockpit, under a bimini and linking sheet to keep the elements at bay. Add to this the starboard half of the cockpit table electrically lowers to make a double bed in the cockpit.
In 2018 a new Leisurefurl boom (and a boom brake) were added, as well as a new mainsail, and in 2019 a new self tacking jib was fitted along with a furling Code 0 for easy offwind sailing. There is also a gennaker and staysail both of which have seen very little use, and a carbon fibre pole for the jib.
.
Her 70hp Yanmar diesel with a 3 blade feathering folding prop has less than 1000 hours on it, and she is equipped with 400 W of solar panels, a wind generator, a 5 kVA Onan generator, a dishwasher, watermaker, and reverse cycle air conditioning. There is a retactable TV set in the saloon and another in the master cabin.
She also comes with a 3.1m Highfield RIB and a 9 hp Yamaha 4 stroke outboard on custom davits.
Internally she has been well cared for and her clever layout allows the possibility for long comfortable stays on board, with all the mod cons.
The Sense 50 was a huge success for Beneteau worldwide. A refreshing, forward-thinking monohull that went on to win many awards and provides a
unique offering in the market of yachts that are all too similar. With very motivated sellers, 'Strength in Numbers' is well worth your consideration.
