Gem is a very easy yacht to sail with a great layout, inside and out. Just two steps down from cockpit to main saloon lets you enjoy the view out of the panoramic windows as well as being part of the socialising, even when in the galley or while seated at the dining table. You can make quick passages and live aboard for an extended time when exploring coastal or offshore destinations.
Gem has:
o Carbon rig
o North Sails
o Four x Anderson winches. Two are electric
o Jefa transmission steering
o Watermaker
o Washing machine
o Athwartships fridge
o HiMacs benchtops
o Great visibility
o 4 cabins - ten berths
o Two heads
o Separate shower
o Extensive easily accessible storage
o 6mm solid teak and ash floor
o 12mm toughened windows
o 650 litres of diesel
o 1200 litres of water
o 160 litre holding tank
o Mastervolt inverter, BEP switchboards etc
o B&G/Simrad electronics
o Ronstan deck gear in custom silver anodising
Entertaining is easy with the spacious galley and island bench. There is plenty of space for working and serving up, and a great flow from galley to outside table, so if it's a big team you can have indoor and outdoor dining running at the same time. Both tables can seat at least six and the indoor table has special custom swivel seats off the polished stainless legs.
Gem has a clean deck and functional cockpit layout with full visibility from either helm over the cabin top, which is not present in many other yachts with a raised pilot house. Both primary electric winches are placed so that they can be used to hoist the mainsail and furl the headsail making sail handling easy. There is a large forepeak for sail storage which also takes the tender and outboard, keeping the decks clear when on passages. The lazarette provides good underdeck storage and access to the steering system.

If you are looking for something special, then Gem is the one!

Remarks
Gem is the realisation of a dream to build a fast, simple, elegant performance cruising yacht with wonderful walk-through flow, spaciousness and panoramic views. She presents as a high-quality build of an extremely well-designed, offshore capable yacht.

Built by an experienced and knowledgeable team, Gem has spent time in the Hauraki Gulf, extended cruising of the Northland coast and a six-month cruise of the Pacific visiting New Caledonia, Vanuatu and the East Coast of Australia logging more than 6000nm.

The main ocean passages saw Gem regularly achieving over 200nm per day and consistently and easily achieving speeds in excess of 12 knots. She is a joy to sail with her Jefa transmission steering system, balanced carbon rudder and a cockpit set up to utilise electric winches for nearly all sail handling.
