Over the years, her dedicated owner has transformed this classic Formosa into a modern, high performance yacht--seamlessly blending timeless craftsmanship with 21st century innovation.
What began as a modest refit evolved into a full-scale rebuild, totaling an extraordinary 18,000 hours of meticulous work between 2011 and 2015. The entire interior was removed and rebuilt; most joinery is new, including all deckheads and soles. New tanks were fitted, 30mm foam insulation was added from the waterline up, and the aft deck was raised by 40 cm to create generous headroom in the aft cabin.
Only the finest materials were chosen: Teak, Mahogany, and Spruce sourced from Burma, Papua New Guinea, Africa, and Sweden. Hand carved details are found throughout, giving the yacht a warm, bespoke character rarely seen today.
A brand new long stroke, high torque 4.4L JCB engine paired with a PRM750 hydraulic transmission was installed--an exceptionally reliable combination. She also features a WEST MEKAN 4 blade controllable pitch propeller, ensuring smooth, efficient performance under power.
On deck, MARGARITA continues to impress: a solid stainless steel guardrail, deck prisms, butterfly hatches, belaying pins, and other classic cruising features. September 2023 Update
After being left unattended during Covid, the owner returned and invested another 1,000 hours restoring every detail affected by time. He also replaced the original wooden masts with high quality alloy masts, transferring all premium fittings from the originals. Today, the yacht once again stands in exemplary condition.
