Large open Cockpit with dual carbon wheels.
Engine mounted generator (low noise)
Reverse cycle Air Conditioning
Upgraded BnG Chart Plotter
Cruising Code Zero with independent furler
Boom Brake
Anchilles inflatable dinghy

Torqueedo Electric outboard motor (no fuel, no noise)
Full cockpit covers (bimini, dodger, full infills, wheel, bbq and winch covers)
3-cabin layout with forward bow storage locker

The yacht's double-ended mainsheet and self-tacking jib make it extremely easy to sail single-handed while berthing is made easier with the use of a bow thruster. All control lines run aft to two sets of winches (electric x 2) within arm's reach of the twin helms. The current owner has fitted a boom brake and two newly upgraded B&G plotters - fitted to the cockpit table aft end with a repeater unit at the nav station below decks.

Comfort below is abundant with filtered drinking water, air conditioning, heating, a full galley with fridges and freezers, coffee machine, dishwasher and microwave. The generator sits in the engine compartment and starts with the press of a button (all controlled easily from the navigation station).

Twin aft cabins provide comfortable family or guest accommodation with large double beds and fitted linen and plenty of storage and hanging lockers. The main (master cabin) offers the island bed with dedicated ensuite head to port and separate shower cabinet to starboard. Hanse offer strip and emergency lighting as well as dedicated reading lights, and night vision lights throughout the yacht's interior. Entertainment is available from an island TV/DVD player which is concealed when not in use. The yacht has an upgraded Fusion stereo system and speakers for interior and cockpit sound.

The aft cockpit transom lowers to offer additional decking and a handsome swim platform with hot/cold water shower and more under deck storage for diving bottles or other boating spares and equipment. There is also a dedicated gas locker with secure storage for two bottles at the transom. On-deck stowage is available in the large cockpit lockers under the seats which also house excess lines running from the jammers when not in use. There is a large dedicated bow locker which houses a near new inflatable dinghy with electric outboard, water toys, spare sails and other equipment which is accessed through a lockable deck hatch.

There is so much room in the cockpit with plush charcoal cushion covers inviting you to stretch out and relax. The winches are offset which means the cockpit is free from the clutter of lines, which all lead aft to one set of electric drums within arms-reach of each of the helms. All major sailing lines can be controlled from here - the main sheet runs aft to port and starboard - and the self tacking jib removes the need for jib sheets. There is a newly fitted BnG colour chart plotter fitted to the cockpit table, and if you're tired standing there are optional helm seats that stow neatly away. Your guests can enjoy the comfort of the cockpit under sail without being in the way or having to lift a finger - other than to open the beautiful cockpit table for hors d'oeuvres once you reach your destination. The anchor may sit under a small sprit on a double bow roller which prevents any interference when flying a cruising chute or code zero. It also means that deploying the anchor can occur from the cockpit without the need to go forward until the vessel is secured.

The Hanse 495's hull is solid hand-laid fibreglass below the waterline with balsa core in the topsides. The deck is also cored with balsa, while the hull is stiffened with a solid fiberglass grid. Both the hull and deck are laminated with isophtalic gelcoat and vinyelseter resin to resist blistering, and the standard T-shaped deep-draft and keel is cast iron.
