In 2024, Takani underwent a substantial refit, with a focus on modernising core systems and improving long-term reliability. This included a comprehensive electrical refresh with new wiring, upgraded switchboards, smart charging equipment, and new intelligent monitoring displays. All lighting was converted to LED, and solar integration was improved to optimise power efficiency. The electronics saw major upgrades, including new multifunction displays, updated autopilot components, communication units, antenna systems, and full data network consolidation. Some general plumbing updates were carried out as part of the renovation to ensure reliable operation of freshwater and onboard systems. The interior also received attention during the renovation, with updates and maintenance completed to keep the living areas comfortable and well-presented. Deck equipment was overhauled, winches and hardware serviced, safety gear inspected, and systems brought up to date. Standing rigging was completely replaced in 2023, providing further peace of mind for blue-water cruising. Antifoul and full engine service have just been completed in July 2025 together with inspections of all through-hull fittings, saildrive, and propeller, leaving Takani fully prepared for her next journey.
