Wild Wave
1952 Jock Muir designed Cutter rigged yacht built to win the Sydney to Hobart.
Built by Geoff & Lindsay Keates overseen by Jock Muir.
Constructed of Huon pine she is nothing but a pedigree both in sailing history and design.
A well known yacht that has endured and has been well loved by the present custodian/ boat builder/shipwright, as well as previous custodians. She has many many stories to tell.
Having undergone a complete refit in 2007 she is now well presented and a capable 70 year old young lass.
Recently hauled out July/August, full hull and topsides paint, bronze new through hull valves with new spotted gum backing blocks, new Airmar transducer on fairing block and B&G Chartplotter as well as New B&G VHF with AIS installed.
Many many upgrades have been made both aesthetic and practical to better sea faring and handling.
Wild Wave is a "home" and a very comfortable one. Spacious and practical she is a big volume boat for the serious sailor.
For further reading I have ample documentation available on her history and restoration

Remarks
I found Wild Wave in Pittwater in somewhat of a neglected state and as a Shipwright i took it upon myself over the last 3 years to bring her back to an Offshore capable vessel. I sailed her from Sydney to Adelaide in March April 2022.
We completed a lovely voyage from Adelaide to her new location in Melbourne in November 2023.
We are currently preparing Wild Wave to return her back to Tasmania in October where we will also attend the AWBF in Hobart in 2025.
Wild Wave is a proud, strong and elegant vessel that really is for the discerning sailor.
It is time for me to move on and am looking to entrust her to the right person so expect an interview!
Full survey 2020 by the well respected Gavin Clark available on request.
I have collected all the teak decking to replace the entire cockpit. Though the existing teak is ok, it is getting somewhat tired. I am happy to replace the cockpit for the new custodian.
Wild Wave is turn key ready to go.

For many more detailed photo's and captions please visit Instagram page, Wild. Wave. Classic. Yacht

Please, only those that understand Wooden Boats and are in a serious position to be the next custodian need only contact.

How to view.
Message me with clear intent to book in a time for a cursory inspection.
Upon inspection an intention to purchase will require a holding deposit of 10%. This will ensure the vessel is held and you may arrange an independent survey if you so wish. Haul out, yard fees, return to water and survey is the buyers responsibility.
Providing the prospective purchaser is happy the remainder of the purchase price will be forwarded and the keys and documents signed and handed over.
