'Ishara' is a beautiful 1983 Little Harbor 50 sailing yacht featuring three luxurious cabins, a spacious main saloon and large, comfortable enclosed cockpit; great for cruising and entertaining. She requires little effort to sail graciously thanks to an efficient sail plan and pushbutton controls, with a gentle and sea-kindly motion for her crew, easily covering 200-mile days on passage.
There are several factors that set this boat apart. Ted Hood (founder of Hood Sails International and America's Cup Helmsman), designed and built sailing and power boats from his factory in Taiwan. The teak work, both on deck and below, is a testament to the build quality. All water and fuel tanks are located below the cabin sole, providing extensive storage - essential when living onboard.
Ishara was fitted with a new mast, new chainplates, a hydraulic Leisure Furl boom and new sails in 2014. She was repowered with a new 100hp Yanmar in 2019 which has just been serviced. Her moderate displacement hull with 1.6m shoal draft enables you to access shallower anchorages without compromising on sailing performance, thanks to a lead keel (8.16 tonnes) and weighted (pivoting) 3.3m centreboard which enables fast and comfortable upwind sailing.
'Ishara' has spent three seasons cruising the East Coast of Australia, and has recently completed a season of racing with her current owners who have loved and appreciated all that she has to offer. She is surprisingly easy to handle 2 handed (as seen in one of the two accompanying videos) thanks to the help of push-button controls and a very spacious and well laid out cockpit plan.
Onboard systems include 3 x electric cockpit winches, electric/hydraulic furling boom, furling headsail, bow thruster, a full suite of Raymarine electronic navigation instruments, remote controlled autopilot and anchor winch, winch controlled davits, water-maker and generator. She carries over 1200 litres of water, 740 litres of fuel, 1000 amp battery bank, significant fridge and freezer space, and masses of storage.

A door opens forward to a large ensuite with vanity and separate shower cubicle (which opens to the saloon). Both twin cabins (forward) are mirror imaged to port and stbd of the mast allowing walk-through access to the forward head which can be divided between toilet (stbd) and shower (port) for privacy. There is plenty of storage in hanging lockers, drawers and cabinets for long term liveaboards. All berths come with plush navy bedspreads (as pictured), reading lights and fans.
