Nicholson 31 Long Keel GRP Masthead Sloop Just Listed

The Nicholson 31 is a classic bluewater cruiser. "Although at first sight, with her long keel, she seems very similar to her older sister, the ever popular, classic Nicholson 32, she is very much a more modern boat. Unashamedly a cruising boat, owing nothing to rating formulae and current trends, the emphasis in the design is on comfort and sea kindliness, rather than speed (not that she is a sluggard in any way). She is very solidly constructed and has been put together to the standard that one has traditionally come to expect of her builders. "

This Nicholson 31 was sailed out from the UK solo by her current owner. She is internationally registerted and has been fully imported into Australia. Her owner had to return to the UK due to family reasons hence she is for sale here in Oz. She is blue water capable with all the gear needed. She does need a cosmetic tidy up.

There is a thorough survey from the UK before she embarked on her journey. Available to serious parties. She is currently on the hard in Port Douglas.

Exterior and deck gear:
White topsides and Flexiteek deck. Manual windlass which works really well, Plow anchor, CQR anchor, Kedge, guardrails, lifelines, hydrovane, two main cockpit winches (Antal and two smaller cockpit winches.
The underwater hull was completely stripped, faired and complete paint system added in spring 2020.

Honda 2hp 4-stroke.
New Selden rod kicker.

Rig and Sails:
Proctor aluminium mast and boom, furling headsail and removable inner forestay.
Standing rigging replaced in Spring 2021 and a new Selden Furlex furler.
Full new set of sails from May 2021: main sail, genoa staysail and spinnaker. Spare main and Genoa, both in good condition. New spinnaker halyard in 2021, and new genoa and main halyards in 2022.

Engine:
Original engine, Yanmar 2QM20, routinely serviced.
New starter motor and alternator, new stainless steel exhaust manifold and a new dripless PSS shaft seal.
Full set of engine spares carried on board.

Systems:
Raymarine Axiom Pro 12inch new 2023.
AIS Transponder AIT 1500 Class B new 2023.
2 X Haze hzy-ev12 -110 AGM batteries, new from 2023 as well as a reserve starter bought in 2023 with battery monitor (Odessy PC 680)

Interior:

Galley has plastimo Neptune cooker, with oven, grill and 2 burners (gas).
Sink with two taps (fresh water and sea water).
Original set of C&N plastic crockery.
Chart table: switch panel was rewired and reset in 2021 with new lining.
The previous owner replaced the upholstery and headlining.
The saloon has a bar locker and a genuine Sestrel clock.
Heads: original Blake's Lavac, all the seals in the pump were replaced in 2023.
Holding tank installed with changeover valve (flush to sea or holding tank).
Spares include: Seals for hatches, full set of spares for lavac, stainless rigging 8mm and 6mm, warps to tow, reel of 10mm braid, and many more.
