Sydney GTS 43 Stratacare Racing

Stratacare Racing is a highly competitive Sydney GTS 43 that has been continually tweaked, upgraded and optimised to remain current in the IRC racing arena.

Designed by Jason Ker, the GTS 43 is a genuine performance racer-cruiser, combining a powerful and efficient hull with excellent offshore capability and a practical interior.

Stratacare has an impressive racing record at the Queensland Yachting Championships, competing for the IRC Perpetual Trophy:

1st - Queensland Yachting Championships IRC Perpetual Trophy, 2025
Stratacare Racing - Flyaway Paul

2nd - Queensland Yachting Championships IRC Perpetual Trophy, 2024
Stratacare Racing - Flyaway Paul

2nd - Queensland Yachting Championships IRC Perpetual Trophy, 2023
Stratacare Racing - Flyaway Paul

Three consecutive years on the podium, including victory in 2025, demonstrates both the competitiveness of the GTS 43 and the quality of the preparation and optimisation behind Stratacare.

She comes exceptionally well equipped for serious offshore and inshore racing, with electric primary winches, electric mainsheet winches and an electric FlatWinder traveller. The boat also carries a comprehensive suite of near-new sails, high-modulus carbon double-spreader mast, carbon fibre boom set up for three reefs and professionally maintained standing rod rigging.

The electronics package includes B&G H5000 instrumentation, Garmin mast displays, AIS, communications equipment and a B&G autopilot added in 2025.

Recent maintenance and upgrades include:

2025
o Mast serviced and all rod rigging dye tested
o New engine
o New top rudder bearing
o B&G autopilot added to the instrumentation system
o New Evolution sails

2026
o Further new Evolution sails
o New Navtec backstay
o Continued optimisation and preparation

The GTS 43 also offers a genuinely functional racer-cruiser interior, with a generous double V-berth forward, two aft cabins and a comfortable saloon. For racing, there are multiple pipe cots, settee berths and quarter berths, making her very well suited to offshore campaigns.

Stratacare Racing is not a project boat. She has been continually maintained, upgraded and optimised, with a strong recent sail inventory, current rigging, modern electronics, electric sail-handling systems and a proven IRC racing record.

A proven performer with three consecutive Queensland Yachting Championships podium finishes and a 2025 IRC Perpetual Trophy win.

Stratacare Racing is ready for her next campaign.

For the race team, the accommodation is exceptionally versatile, with 4 pipe cots -- 2 in the saloon and 1 in each aft cabin -- plus 2 settee berths and 2 single quarter berths, all fitted with lee-cloths.
