Nic and Vicky are the third owners of this magnificent Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 48.
They acquired Amokura in Sardinia in 2014 and spent the following years cruising extensively around the Mediterranean until 2022. They then crossed the Atlantic to the Caribbean, where they enjoyed several seasons of sailing before continuing their voyage to French Polynesia in 2024.
Now arriving in Polynesia, Amokura marks the culmination of a remarkable cruising journey aboard a beautifully maintained and exceptionally well-equipped sailing yacht.
Wauquiez yachts are renowned worldwide for their build quality, comfort, and seaworthiness. The raised saloon and interior navigation station offer extraordinary panoramic views, creating a bright and comfortable living space both at anchor and underway. This particular Wauquiez Pilot Saloon 48 has benefited from numerous upgrades by her current owners and has been meticulously and regularly maintained.
The interior layout is particularly well designed. A spacious owner's cabin with ensuite bathroom is located forward. Aft, there is a comfortable double cabin and an additional cabin with two bunk beds, as well as a second bathroom.
The galley is exceptionally well equipped with induction cooktops, a large front-opening refrigerator, and a spacious freezer. Numerous kitchen accessories are included, along with a convenient 9 kg washing machine on board.
The sail plan is designed to make handling easy and efficient even with a small crew. The boat is equipped with an electric furling mainsail and an electric furling genoa, making sail handling extremely simple and safe. Additional furling headsails are available, and for downwind sailing a Parasailor provides excellent performance and comfort on long passages. All sails were replaced in 2020.
Designed for long-distance cruising in comfort, Amokura is equipped with two hydraulic autopilots, a Parasailor sail, a 100 L/h watermaker, solar panels, and a generator. Large fuel and water tanks further enhance her autonomy at sea.
