Cruised with Family of 3 for eight years, west coast USA, Mexico, Pacific Islands and Australia. This is a unique well-proven boat. It has a Polynesian-inspired rig, built with high tech materials. The hulls are cold-molded epoxy diagonal planking, using West System Epoxy and Marples Constant Camber Construction Method. Reinforced throughout by foam core and carbon fiber.
Etak sails like a sleek fast monohull with stabilising outer hulls, sailing smooth and level in all seas, and riding well at anchor, no need for a complicated bridle like a catamaran. She holds a steady course thanks to her 4 meter long hollow core mini-keel.
Twin free-standing carbon fiber Masts height of 12.8 m above deck, stepped to keel 10 ft below deck.
Draft 4 ft. (1.2 m)
Length 13 meters, ( 44 ft )
Beam 8.5 meters, ( 28 ft )
Displacement 15,000 lbs includes 3,000 lb payload
27 hp Yanmar Diesel 3GMD. 2600 hrs. Recently fully serviced.
Simple, safe, easily maintained cat rig. Twin free-standing carbon fiber masts have distinct advantages.
Simple "Sock" Sails are laced in the front and rotate on the masts. Sails have 3 reef points. First two reefs are slab-reefed and can be reefed down within ten seconds. All sheets and lines are controlled from the cockpit with user friendly rope clutches and heavy-duty Lewmar 45s self-tailing winches.
Built in San Diego early 90's, built for tall people. 6'4" headroom throughout, with long berths in all cabins. Very comfortable and livable boat.
Wing pods provide extra volume in main cabin and increased hull strength. Multiple Lewmar hatches, 3 inch foam cabin ceilings and Caframo fans moderate inside temps. Dry comfortable cockpit with hard dodger, also has lee cloths and an awning over aft deck with rain catchers.
4 Solar Panels on deck.
New trampolines. 12 ft porta-bote dinghy with 7 ft oars.
Stored on a well-built and well-maintained trailer, built specifically for her. No rust. Launched and retrieved using a local farmer's tractor.
Etak is still a US registered boat, has been imported and registered in Australia.
Two 555 Sea Tiger Windlasses over 2 chain lockers, lots of ground tackle, including 2 large Delta anchors, a large Fortress stern anchor and spares, nylon rode, 12 ft Parachute anchor and Jordan Series Drogue.
130 litre water tank
108 litres diesel capacity
Boat interior and exterior refurbished 2024-2025.
Ready for a new couple to live their dream.
