SOLD & SETTLED | Curtis Fielding and the Anchorline team have proudly sold and settled the 56´ Pleysier Flybridge Cruiser 'Avalon II'.
Anchorline is proud to exclusively present the 56´ Pleysier Flybridge Cruiser 'Avalon II' to the market.
Pleysier's sea keeping abilities are legendary. That is why many deep-sea enthusiasts aspire to own one - these extraordinary vessels are custom built classics that are irreplaceable in today's market.
Pleysier boats are some of the best performing blue water vessels on the market. 'Avalon II' is among an elite few crafted with unique design elements by Ray Hunt Design in collaboration with David Pleysier.
Over the past ten years 'Avalon II' has benefited from two significant restorations totalling over $3 million, taking her into a league of her own. On both occasions, David Pleysier was engaged as a consultant and, following the recent upgrades, has referred to 'Avalon II' as "aesthetically timeless and irreplaceable". New decor is courtesy of AG Design House who were commissioned to deliver a seamless look with clean, crisp and functional design elements.
In 2014, the then owner stripped 'Avalon II' back to her basic components, while the current owner's 12 month bare hull restoration project, completed in April 2022, took the structural enhancements from 2014 to new heights with nothing overlooked and no cost spared for her outfitting. Craig Martin of Assegai Marine contributed his expertise to the major elements of the 2022 re-build, adding another famous boat building name to its Hunt and Pleysier heritage.
The main saloon is entered via bi-fold doors leading from the cockpit. The saloon is flooded with natural light from large frameless windows and is a versatile space for guests to enjoy a meal, drinks or a movie. An L-shaped settee surrounds a large hi-lo table to port with another L-shaped lounge on the starboard side. This is a comfortable space to sit back and relax between destinations or at the end of the day when tall tales are told over a couple of drinks.
The galley is yet another area of the boat that exceeds expectations with a well thought out design and functionality. Portholes have been replaced with overhead hatches providing significantly more light and ventilation. The galley fiddle is crafted teak that has been moulded into shape and covered with a 5mm Caesarstone benchtop providing a durable and stylish working space.
Appliances include a Vitrifrigo 24-volt two draw refrigerator, Siemans hot plates and commercial grade stainless steel extraction fan housed in a discreet cupboard. There is plenty of storage throughout the galley with cupboards, a pull-out pantry and soft-touch lockable drawers. In addition to her 300 litres water tank a CITOR automatic water maker has been fitted making 200 litres of filtered fresh water in an hour.
Accommodation consists of a double berth in the main cabin with an ensuite and a V-berth housing four single bunk beds - with the lower bunks converting to a double bed when required. All vinyl, headlinings, teak trims and carpets are new, as are the LED light fittings and hatches to promote light and airy accommodation. The two heads have been modernised, cupboards faired and repainted along with non-skid floors resurfaced. The Two Pack finish is flawless giving a luxurious finish and offering durability and longevity.
The huge teak laid cockpit is an entertainers dream with a centrally mounted table for meals, interchangeable with a new Assegai custom teak rocket launcher along with a 210L U-tectic freezer, sink and tackle station. Shade is provided by a new custom Euro style removable awning. The new tender is well out of the way of fishing adventures positioned on the foredeck on a new cradle and tie-down points and easily deployed via an ADC 250kg Davit to the port side.
Up on deck, Assegai Marine were the craftsmen behind the completely customised flybridge and hard top. The owner's vision was to design a unique bridge that complimented the vessel. Accessed via a solid stainless- steel ladder in the cockpit, the flybridge is fitted with two new imported Pompanette teak ladder backed helm chairs and comfortable lounges forward and starboard of the captain.
The helm station is uncomplicated and practical with every gauge needed to monitor the boat's performance including two Raymarine hybrid touch screens. The Miami single lever throttles are a nice custom touch, making manoeuvrability in close quarters a dream. The flybridge is protected by a new custom fibreglass over 30mm foam hardtop and reverse shear windshield with 6mm Perspex inlays all sealed up with new Strataglass clears and Custom Black Marlin anodised aluminium half tower frame, in itself a work of art and functionality.
Her engine room is a work of art. Delivering outstanding performance and enhanced fuel efficiency, 'Avalon II' is powered by twin Cummins QSC diesel engines that each produce 600hp. They are in pristine condition having logged a low 475 hrs. A lot of work has gone into upgrading the structural elements of the hull to accommodate the increased horsepower with the extra lateral and longitudinal hull stringers being added. Both David Pleysier and the current owner agree that the hull is "bullet proof". Everywhere you look you get a sense of the effort and resources that have gone into ensuring the space is optimal.
With her hull shape and reliable Cummins propulsion systems, Avalon II will take you to the depths of the ocean in a fraction of the time cruising at a comfortable 21 knots @ 2,500 RPM (burning 130 LPH). Additionally, she has a top speed of 29+ knots achievable @ 3,000 RP. Her 3,800L fuel capacity gives her an amazing 600+ nautical mile range at cruising speed. It must be noted that all Avalon II's systems and hull are built to survey standards. All bulkheads throughout the vessel are watertight. Every inch of the hull has been inspected and repainted to the highest standard. It is no overstatement that 'Avalon II' presents in 2024 condition.
With basic equipment additions 'Avalon II' can be made ready for commercial use. This extraordinary vessel will impress those who appreciate attention to detail and have an adventurous spirit. In addition to offshore fishing adventures, she is equally at home cruising the harbour with family and friends or for extended family cruising.
'Avalon II' is the perfect example of stylish simplicity. Not a single detail has been overlooked in her internal design and restoration. A private inspection of 'Avalon II' is highly recommended, will not disappoint and is now available by prior appointment in Broken Bay, New South Wales. Please contact our office for further details.
