Thomascraft 35 Sports Cruiser - Bifold doors open onto huge cockpit - Brilliant! Under Contract

If you're a similar age to me then the Thomascraft 35 is a model you may recall from your formative years as apopular WA pleasure boat. This particular hull has been in storage and never touched water until in 2018 it was purchased by her current owner who commissioned the completion of the build. His requirements were simple - he wanted a low maintenance lock up and go outboard powered boat with lots of accommodation and a large open plan layout and another level of performance.

In 2020 the custom build was completed and she hit the water for the first time.

It was a pleasure stepping behind the helm to take herthrough her paces off Fremantle recently. I was really impressed by the performance achieved from the twin 350HP Suzuki outboards. Dual counter rotating propsproduce fantastic pickup and an effortless 25 knot cruise. The hull was extended to incorporate the outboards increasing the waterline length with an integrated pod which doubles as a large swimboard. Length overall now approximately 38ft and adding to the impressive performance achieved with the outboards.

The clever interior layout has resulted in a preferred aft galley arrangement with a hopper window and bifold saloon doors opening straight into the rear deck. The has created a versatile living area which can be fully opened when the weather permits producing a lovely single level flow. This would make a sensational party boat for river cruising orday trips to the islands with a group of friends.

It's rare to find a vessel of this size incorporating such a large amount of berths. Four tournament single berths up in the bow, a midship double berth and a saloon dinette table which lowers to form yet another large single - seven berths in total. Another feature is the separate toilet compartment and another room for the shower large enough to be a change room.

Twin Garmin Multifunction displays provide depth and GPS information. Communications come in the form of GME VHFand 27meg marine radios and an extensive Fusion stereosystem. Digital engine displays and power steering controls are all neatly set out on the dashboard. The adjustable helm chair sits high enough enabling you to comfortably sit will driving. It also swivels around and forms part of the social saloon seating when at rest.

The interior is finished in low maintenance high close white lacquer cabinetry and grey carpets and lining fabrics.

This truly is a boat I could own - she performs really well, simple to use, well thought out living spaces and suitable for all weather boating with its enclosure!
