John Alden 66 Classic Bluewater Cruiser
This magnificent 66-foot John Alden Malabar 13 66 is a timeless classic designed, and originally owned in the beginning of her life, by renowned naval architect John G. Alden. Built with elegant traditional lines and powerful ocean-going capability, she embodies the grace and seakeeping qualities that have made Alden designs legendary among serious sailors.
This yacht combines classic styling with the durability of fibreglass construction and a strong full-keel hull form. Her sweeping sheerline, long overhangs and graceful profile turn heads in every harbour while providing excellent offshore performance and comfort at sea.
Below decks she offers a warm and inviting interior finished in rich timber, creating the atmosphere expected of a classic yacht of this pedigree. The accommodation layout is generous and comfortable for extended cruising, with spacious living areas, ample storage, and practical systems for bluewater passages.
Powered by a reliable Perkins 85hp diesel, rebuilt in 2015, she provides dependable auxiliary propulsion when required, while her traditional sail plan delivers steady, balanced sailing performance offshore. Extensive tankage and robust construction make her well suited for long-distance cruising or classic yacht events.
Lovingly maintained and upgraded over the years, this Alden 66 presents as a rare opportunity to acquire a substantial classic yacht with pedigree, presence, and true ocean-going capability. Her current owners, a professional couple, have owned for 15 years and have lovingly maintained and cared for her meticulously.
