Oyster Flagship | En Route to the Mediterranean

The Oyster 82 is widely regarded as one of the finest luxury bluewater cruising yachts ever produced by Oyster Marine. Designed by the renowned Rob Humphreys, she successfully combines exceptional offshore capability with the comfort, craftsmanship and timeless styling that have made Oyster one of the world's leading builders of long-distance cruising yachts.

Built in 2007, ZIG ZAG measures almost 25 metres (82 feet) and offers generous accommodation for up to ten guests in five cabins, making her equally suited to extended family cruising, world voyaging or luxury liveaboard use.

During her current ownership, ZIG ZAG has benefitted from significant ongoing investment with major capital improvements that would be difficult and expensive for a future owner to replicate. Recent highlights include a Caterpillar Reman main engine with approximately 200 running hours, new rod rigging fitted in 2025, replacement teak decks completed in 2023, a new port Onan generator with Power Take-Off (approximately 130 hours), extensive interior refurbishment with modern maple sole boards, together with a comprehensive programme of maintenance and continual upgrading.

Constructed in GRP and powered by Caterpillar diesel machinery, she combines reassuring ocean-going capability with impressive onboard comfort. Hydraulic bow thruster assistance, twin generators, high-capacity watermaker, reverse-cycle air conditioning throughout and a comprehensive sail inventory further enhance her credentials as a serious long-distance cruising yacht.

ZIG ZAG is currently en route to Spain and will shortly be available for inspection in the Mediterranean. Professional photography, video, a comprehensive inventory and further technical information will be added as she completes her passage.

Early enquiries are strongly encouraged.

OWNER'S COMMENTS

"ZIG ZAG has been a wonderful yacht for family cruising, allowing us to cruise in complete comfort and safety. Oyster's build quality, thoughtful design and exceptional sea-keeping have given us enormous confidence wherever we have travelled.

She offers the perfect balance between luxurious accommodation and genuine passagemaking capability. The spacious saloon, generous owner's accommodation and large cockpit have made her equally enjoyable for extended cruising and entertaining family and friends.

Over the years we have continually invested in the yacht to ensure she remained reliable, comfortable and ready to cruise at any time. We hope her next owners enjoy her as much as we have. "

BROKER'S COMMENTS

The Oyster 82 occupies a unique position within the luxury sailing yacht market. Large enough to offer genuine superyacht levels of comfort whilst retaining Oyster's renowned bluewater cruising philosophy, she remains one of the most respected production cruising yachts ever built.

What immediately distinguishes ZIG ZAG is the level of recent capital investment. Rather than simply maintaining the yacht, the current owner has undertaken some of the most significant improvements buyers look for in an Oyster of this size, including replacement teak decks, new rod rigging, a Caterpillar Reman engine with only around 200 operating hours and a new port Onan generator with Power Take-Off (PTO). Together these represent substantial investment and provide considerable reassurance for future ownership.

Her systems specification further reinforces her bluewater credentials, featuring a hydraulic 30HP bow thruster powered via the generator PTO, twin Onan generators, a Dessal watermaker producing approximately 240 litres per hour, reverse-cycle Dometic air conditioning throughout the accommodation and a versatile sail wardrobe that includes a virtually new Dolphin / Evolution membrane genoa.

Nicolle Associates has enjoyed a long association with Oyster yachts. In addition to representing numerous Oyster owners over many years, we supplied the rigging package, sails and safety equipment for the Oyster 82 sistership SARITA during her construction, giving us an unusually detailed understanding of the design, engineering and cruising capabilities of this exceptional model.

As ZIG ZAG arrives in the Mediterranean, further professional photography, inventory details and technical information will be added. Even at this stage, however, she already represents one of the more technically compelling Oyster 82s currently available.

Taken together, the Caterpillar Reman engine, new rod rigging, replacement teak decks, upgraded machinery and recent sail investment represent exactly the sort of major capital expenditure experienced Oyster buyers hope has already been undertaken, significantly reducing the scale of foreseeable ownership costs while enhancing the yacht's long-term appeal.
