Bathed in Tasmanian shipbuilding history, White Star is the quintessential coastal cruising yacht that packs impressive performance in any conditions and brilliant sea-keeping. Featuring a wonderful centre cockpit and aft-cabin layout, her functioning deck spaces are almost completely protected while the interior and accommodation spaces are spacious and comfortable. Penned by the renowned Max Creese and built by the equally esteemed Geoff Cuthbertson, White Star formed the amalgamation of two of Tasmania's greatest builders. Constructed using strip-planked Huon Pine with Celery Top Pine ribs, beams, and keel, then finished with a Queensland Beech deck and mahogany trim, White Star is a display of the finest timbers put to use. Easily and often handled single-handed, White Star has proven itself over long passages and has even conquered Cyclone Ida while at sea. As a current AMSA Australian Registered Ship, she has cruised regularly around Tasmanian waters such as the D'Entrecasteau Channel, Port Davey and Freycinet. White Star has also seen Bass Straight 10 times, the waters of the Solomon Islands, the Whitsundays and stunned in the Australian Wooden Boat Festival. Of which it has a place reserved for the coming instalment in early 2027. This proven and history-rich vessel has benefited enormously from its current custodian, with a substantial refit taking place over recent years with NEW PAINT, MAJOR HULL AND DRIVELINE WORKS, NEW FINISHINGS, NEW ELECTRONICS AND MORE!

White Star's practical layout provides a centre cockpit that is almost fully enclosed but still allows fresh air to enter the space. This cockpit could very nearly be considered a pilothouse thanks to a hard roof, front windscreen (NEW forward glass windows) and partly enclosed sides. The cockpit benefits from great social seating to either side with storage behind and engine room access beneath. The helm is well equipped, featuring a NEW Raymarine Axiom touchscreen multifunction display with NEW integrated wind instrumentation, depth, AIS and more! The helm also features a NEW ICOM VHF, Wagner HF radio and various engine telemetry and equipment. This vessel has been fitted out to safely and confidently cruise extended offshore waters, and the helm station provides much of this security.

The forward interior provides a light and comfortable living space with a large U-shaped settee to port around a varnished timber dinette. Additional seating can be found from a bench settee to starboard. Also to starboard is the main head that features an electric marine toilet and vanity. The galley is positioned forward of the main saloon and is well laid out to maximise floor space and for easy use at sea. The galley features a 2-burner gas stove and oven, stainless steel sink and excellent storage. Equipped for extended cruising, a large amount of refrigeration and freezer space can be found beneath the chart table to the starboard side with an Electrolux fridge, large ice chest and two deep fridge or freezer compartments.

The forward guest cabin features a V-berth configuration and is currently utilised as a terrific storage space with direct access onto the foredeck through a timber hatch. Currently set up for long-range comfortable cruising for the owner, the aft master stateroom provides spacious and quiet accommodation. The master benefits from plenty of floor space and a large double berth with settees to either side, plus a desk or navigation table. A separate shower stall is to starboard with plenty of floor space and also serves as a large wet locker.

The engine room is found through the floor of the cockpit with brilliant access and space to move around the unit on all sides. Power comes from a reliable Ford Lehman 80hp diesel engine with a direct shaft drive. Paired with an enormous 1500L of fuel and water, White Star sees an enormous range and long-distance capability.

Benefiting from enormous upgrades and work over recent years, White Star is ready to set sail to any destination. Its blue water capabilities and configuration allow its next custodians to truly explore further afield and choose any destination on the map. Cared for with no previous intentions to sell, this vessel is equipped and ready for anything and will do so with style and charm.
