'Binx' is a meticulously maintained 2020 Excess 15, listed exclusively for sale with YOTI, Australia and Orakei Marine, New Zealand.

Excess is the new dynamic player in town from the Beneteau Group, by the same renowned designers as Lagoon. These sporty Catamarans focus on more sensation, simplicity, and performance; their owners boasted a top speed of up to 17kts under sail in the Atlantic ARC before continuing to the Pacific and New Zealand.

Her two helm positions are at the aft end of hulls, where sailing enthusiasts prefer it. These provide excellent visibility of her sails and the whole boat in front of you, close enough to hear the water rushing past her topside. No flybridges to interfere with her sleek profile and isolate the helmsperson.

Her vast cockpit features a dining table with ample seating, an outdoor galley with a sink and fridge, a transom bench and two foldable helm seats. Her OC tender is stored on her discreet davits.

'Binx' has the standard twin swept-spreader alloy rig, an excellent sail wardrobe of high-performance main and furling jib, a gennaker, storm jib, trysail, and a code zero for those light wind days. The electric Primary and electric FlatWinder traveller winch make sailing adjustments a breeze. Her electronic package includes a Raymarine 7" Axiom plotter and a 4G Radar, AIS Transceiver, and Iridium sat phone.

Two Yanmar 57HP engines power this vessel; there is 400A/h of Mastervolt Lithium batteries, a Mastervolt 3500W inverter, 1140W of Solar power, a Watt & Sea Hydro Generator and a 100l/hr watermaker.

'Binx' is set up to accommodate 12 guests in 6 comfortable cabins. The designers at Excess have created a stylish yet simple interior, with the owners adding some nice, personalised furniture. Her L-shaped settee is slightly raised to provide better-seated views through her wrap-around windows. Her aft-facing galley has a four-burner gas top and oven, a double-drawer fridge, a front-opening freezer, and ample working top space. Additionally, there is an icemaker and a drinks fridge in the cockpit.

The hulls are mirror-imaged, with double cabins fore and aft, each with an en-suite head and shower. The third cabin in each hull is built under the saloon. These internal cabins alternatively make great storage spaces.

With an impressive inventory, lots of safety gear, freshly painted hulls, and new antifoul in April '24, she looks as good as new and is ready for her new owners.
