SO WHAT MAKES THIS BOAT SO SPECIAL??
The current owner is a Class 3 Ships Engineer, and his profession is truly reflected in the way he keeps this vessel. It's ALWAYS in ready-to-go-to-sea condition - AND to go fishing... Which in this case is more than a passion - its a huge part of his life.

It is so rare today to find anyone with the intricate engineering knowledge this owner has. And its even rarer to have that person apply the knowledge to their own boat. This truly is a showcase of the owner's profession and pride.

To begin with, the Paula-Lee is fitted with 5.9 litre 6 cyl 6BTA 315 HP Cummins diesels. These have a top RPM of 2800 rpm. They are not high revving, electronic power plants. Cummins are a respected brand name marine engine, and a sea trial will show the performance that this twin 6 cyl Cummins combination is capable of.

The sea trial I've already attended saw the boat drive effortlessly at 20 knots at just under 2000 RPM. The boat can also maintain 22 to 23 knots in the open ocean in following conditions - so you don't bog down on the back of a wave.
At 18 to 20 knots the fuel burn combined is 40 litres per hour... Which is very economical fishing and boating.

Prior to the current ownership the starboard engine had a complete Cummins re-manufacture.
Also prior to this ownership the port engine was completely rebuilt by Energy systems.

The current owner in the past 3 years has removed the engines - along with shafts and skegs, all for a very thorough upgrade. All bolt-on bits were removed and nothing was left to chance.

Works done under the current ownership include:-
Harmonic balancers redone.
New front and rear seals fitted with wear sleeves.
New Bosch injectors.
Turbos redone with custom 2205 stainless exhaust mixers fitted.
New stainless, custom engine beds fitted and new mounts.
New PSS seals fitted.
New Sherwood pumps fitted.
ZF 228 gearboxes rebuilt.
Shafts re machined, one renewed.
New bronze skegs fitted.
2 x new 95 amp alternators fitted.
Heat exchangers and cooler serviced with new gaskets and seals.
Engines are always freshwater flushed after use. Simple system inbuilt.
Gear driven, oil change pump fitted for easy oil changes.
AND MUCH MORE

Cheap to-buy boats don't usually end up being cost effective once you've put in the time and money to bring them up to spec. This one is already well and truly up to spec!

The vessel has undergone a complete two-pack respray with Jotun extreme gloss paint products.
Under water areas were sand blasted back to bare by GT Mac in Hemmant - and a full International epoxy system was applied to commercial standards.

Paula-Lee has fished from the Swains and all points south offshore to the Gold Coast. Due to the correct engine combination, and along with the respected brand of Kevlacat, the complete setup of the boat, this is a true fishing machine.
